Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick, then use a football-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies.
Place the cut-outs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
Let the cookies cool completely before decorating them with royal icing.
Use the royal icing to draw football laces and decorate with sprinkles as desired.
