Comforting Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa

Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound kielbasa sliced
  • 24 ounces frozen pierogi potato and cheese
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cups sauerkraut drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare the ingredients for cooking.
  2. Layer the bottom of the Crockpot with sauerkraut.
  3. Add half of the frozen pierogi on top of the sauerkraut.
  4. Sprinkle half of the onion, garlic powder, and smoked paprika over the pierogi.
  5. Add half of the kielbasa slices over the onions.
  6. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
  7. Top the casserole with shredded cheese and dollops of sour cream.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until heated through.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with additional sour cream if desired.
