Crafting the Perfect Pancake Stack at Home

Pancake Stack made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients: eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined; a few lumps are okay.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake; cook until bubbles form on the surface.
  6. Flip the pancake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the other side is golden brown.
  7. Repeat with the remaining batter and stack the pancakes on a warm plate.
  8. Serve with your favorite toppings like syrup, fruits, or whipped cream.
