Creating a Comforting Corn Casserole at Home

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups corn kernels fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the corn kernels, sour cream, and melted butter.
  3. Add the cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, and salt to the bowl.
  4. If using cheese, fold it into the mixture now for added flavor.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
