Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter chilled
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Combine dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in the butter.
  3. Add egg and vanilla.
  4. Chill the dough.
  5. Preheat the oven.
  6. Roll out the dough.
  7. Cut and fit into tartlet pans.
  8. Prick the bottoms.
  9. Blind bake the shells.
  10. Cool before filling.
