Creating Light and Fluffy Bread Rolls at Home

Fluffy Bread Rolls made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water 110°F/45°C
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg

Method
 

  1. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Add warm water and melted butter to the dry mixture.
  3. Incorporate the egg and mix until combined.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the dough into rolls and place in a baking pan.
  7. Allow the shaped rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven and bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and brush with butter.
