Double Chocolate M&M Cookies made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M's candies

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and M&M's until evenly dispersed throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each ball.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
  10. Enjoy your freshly baked cookies warm or at room temperature.
