Delicious Christmas Cookies for the Festive Season

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  7. Sprinkle with colored sugar or sprinkles before baking, if desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
