Ingredients
  

  • 1 large head green cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 15 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme

Method
 

  1. Prepare the cabbage by removing the core and chopping it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large skillet or pot, sauté the chopped onion in a bit of oil until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic to the onions and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the ground beef or turkey and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in the chopped cabbage, cooked rice, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or pepper as needed.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
