Deliciously Classic Original Sausage Balls

Original Sausage Balls made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1 cup baking mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork sausage, baking mix, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Pour the milk mixture into the sausage mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Using your hands, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove the sausage balls from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes.
