Easy Cheesy Homemade Crispitos made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 large flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • Oil for frying vegetable or canola
  • Sour cream or salsa for dipping

Method
 

  1. Combine the cheeses and taco seasoning in a bowl.
  2. Warm tortillas slightly in a dry skillet or microwave to make them pliable.
  3. Place about 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture in the center of each tortilla.
  4. Roll up the tortillas tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat or set up an air fryer.
  6. Fry the crispitos in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the crispitos and let them drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve immediately with sour cream or salsa on the side for dipping.
