Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring assorted colors
  • Golden sprinkles for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract, followed by the baking powder, and alternate adding flour and milk.
  5. Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each.
  6. Pour the colored batters into the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Once cooled, frost the cake with your choice of frosting, and decorate with golden sprinkles.
