Delightful Crème Brûlée Cookies for Sweet Moments

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Extra granulated sugar for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the heavy cream until fully incorporated.
  7. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  9. Once out of the oven, let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes.
  10. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and allow them to cool completely.
  11. Sprinkle a thin layer of granulated sugar on top of each cookie.
  12. Using a kitchen torch, carefully caramelize the sugar until golden brown.
