Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  7. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  11. Once completely cool, slice and serve as desired, optionally dusting with powdered sugar.
