Delightful Sweet & Salty Chex Mix Recipe

Sweet & Salty Chex Mix made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup mixed nuts almonds, cashews
  • 1 cup M&M’s or chocolate-covered candies
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Corn Chex, pretzels, mixed nuts, and M&M’s.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined.
  4. Pour the butter mixture over the dry ingredients and gently stir until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Spread the mixture in a single layer on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even toasting.
  7. Once baked, remove the Chex Mix from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
  8. Break apart any large clusters and store in an airtight container.
