Flavorful Chicken Lettuce Wraps for Easy Dinners

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 1 head of butter or iceberg lettuce

Method
 

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet; sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in the ground chicken, breaking it apart with a spatula; cook until browned.
  4. Add the chopped bell pepper and mushrooms; cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and hoisin sauce; mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the sesame oil and chopped green onions; stir to combine and remove from heat.
  7. Separate lettuce leaves and wash gently; pat dry with a towel.
  8. Spoon the chicken filling into each lettuce leaf; serve immediately.
