Indulge in Classic Brioche Bread and Butter Pudding

Brioche bread and butter pudding made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 slices of brioche bread
  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 500 ml whole milk
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: Raisins or currants

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Spread butter on each slice of brioche.
  4. Arrange the buttered brioche slices in the baking dish.
  5. Whisk together milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  6. Pour the custard mixture over the brioche.
  7. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
