Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly with butter.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and mini chocolate chips. Mix until smooth and fully blended.
In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Sift together flour and baking powder, then gradually add to the creamed mixture until combined.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Spread the ricotta mixture over the batter layer, then top it with the remaining batter.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let the squares cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
