Nostalgic Flavors: A Timeless Meatloaf Recipe

Classic Meatloaf made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for glaze
  • 1/2 cup ketchup for glaze

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  3. Transfer mixture to a loaf pan or shaped on a baking sheet.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and ketchup for the glaze.
  5. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
