Recreating Taco Bell’s Irresistible Nacho Fries at Home

Taco Bell Nacho Fries made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and cut the russet potatoes into fry shapes.
  3. Soak the cut fries in water for 30 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
  4. Toss the fries with vegetable oil and taco seasoning.
  5. Arrange the seasoned fries on a baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. While the fries bake, prepare the cheese sauce.
  7. Remove fries from the oven and immediately top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Return to the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Top with sour cream, jalapeños, and chives before serving.
