Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups shredded beef
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in buttermilk until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut into circles.
  7. Place the cut biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  8. While biscuits are baking, prepare the beef filling.
  9. In a medium saucepan, combine shredded beef, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth; heat until warm.
  10. Once biscuits are baked, split them open and fill with shredded beef; serve hot with broth on the side.
