Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix the chopped pecans, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Place the salmon fillets, skin-side down, on the prepared baking sheet.
Spread the pecan mixture evenly over the tops of the salmon fillets.
Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the crust for added richness.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
