The Comfort of Homemade Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust and place it in the pie dish.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, sugars, and spices until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and cream, and whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  6. Bake the pie for 15 minutes at 425°F (220°C), then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 40-50 minutes more.
  7. Check for doneness by inserting a knife in the center - it should come out clean.
  8. Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing.
