Transforming Ground Turkey Into Flavorful Meals

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 1 cup cooked rice or quinoa

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until soft.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  5. Season with cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper as the turkey cooks.
  6. Once the turkey is no longer pink, stir in the canned tomatoes.
  7. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve the ground turkey mixture over cooked rice or quinoa.
